About

Start adding faceted gemstones to your work. A tube setting is similar to a bezel setting, which makes for a natural introduction to faceted stone setting. This setting securely holds the stone on a shelf by compressing the tube walls around it. Students in this class will be using burs, ?les, burnishers, pushers and punches to set the stones. You will learn important basics of traditional faceted stone settings and how useful the ?ex-shaft can be when setting stones.

Tube settings are versatile and a great addition to your growing skills. You will have the opportunity to make a piece of jewelry, but this two day class will focus on the skills more than a ?nished product. This can be a challenging class so you should be comfortable with basic bezel setting and be able to solder on your own.

What to bring to class:
Students should bring loupes or magni?ers, digital caliper, ring clamps, bench mate vices, swivel vices, ?les, setting burs, ?ex shaft hammer hand pieces, pushers, punches and burnishers if you have them.

Materials fee: $25
