About

BARN is thrilled to announce the Summer Story Slam, an opportunity for storytellers from all walks of life to get on stage and tell their stories.

THEME: Campfire Stories - True tales of camping adventures, encounters, mishaps and mayhem, including the stories you might tell around an actual campfire.

RULES:

  1. Five-minute limit
  2. It's gotta be true! (or as true as you remember it)
  3. Stick with the theme, please
  4. No notes, no props

HOW TO ENTER: No registration necessary. We'll be collecting names in a hat to be picked at random. We have room for 10 storytellers.

JUDGING: Storytellers will be judged by a panel of your peers on CONTENT and DELIVERY. Top three scores will win fabulous prizes! Hosted by the incomparable Kate Henderson, member of The Edge Improv and BARN's own Volunteer Coordinator.

Not sure where to start? Check out the upcoming workshop, The Craft of Storytelling: How to Write and Perform your Personal Story to learn the ropes and get some coaching.

This is an offsite event and will be held at The Marketplace at Pleasant Beach, 4738 Lynwood Center Rd NE. Arrive early to get a good seat!
