Discover the joy of knitting! Or take your skills up a notch!  

Over four mornings, you’ll make two simple projects with beautiful washable, multi-colored yarn. You’ll build strong basic skills or add more skills so you can easily make lots of projects on your own. And you’ll take home your needles and yarn so you can create something new when class is over

For beginners:

Day 1: Basic cast-on and knit stitch. Start Headband project.

Day 2: Cast off. Purl stitch. Sewing edges together. Finish Headband project.

Day 3: Ribbing, decreases. Start Hat project.

Day 4: Finish Hat project. Time allowing: Learn to make a tassel!

For knitters with experience:

Day 1: Learn a new cast-on. Start Pencil Case project.

Day 2: Practice sewing edges together. Make a tassel. Finish Pencil Case project.

Day 3: Learn seed stitch. Start Dishcloth project..

Day 4: Learn moss stitch. Finish Dishcloth project. Time allowing: Add a cable!

For all skill levels: When this class is over, we’ll kick off a Youth Knitting Circle for graduates of this class and other young knitters! Stay tuned for more information!

Details:

• Registration will close on Sunday, August 1 at 9:00 AM.
• Material and supplies fee: 15.00 (included in the price of the class)
• This class is for youth 8-12 years old.
• To register your youth, please put in the "First Name" field your first name then in parenthesis put the youth's first and last name (if different than yours). The email address you register with is where all reminders will be sent.
• Please click here to register youth for an optional supervised lunch hour from 12-1pm for the week of this class.
  
• Please complete and return this minor permission form if BARN does not already have one on file for your child from a past class.

• BARN will be practicing safety measures for the health and well-being of all participants, in accordance with state and CDC guidelines. Students and instructors will be required to wear masks, wash or sanitize hands frequently, maintain a distance of six feet between individuals, and stay home if they are sick. Instructor Bio:  

Fran Fuller has been knitting since she was in second grade. She says, “Once you get the hang of it, knitting is pretty easy and full of possibilities! There are thousands of patterns available for you to make your own scarves, hats, sweaters, gloves, socks, and almost anything you can think of!”
