About

Canceled by Catherine Camp and studio 7/18/22-CR

Start your sewing journey by learning the basics. You will learn to use our sewing machines by making "Jammie" bottoms and then choose your own a project. A key skill you'll learn in this class is how to read a sewing pattern.

BARN will provide the Jammie bottom pattern, interfacing, twill tape, thread, and all tools.

Supplies needed:

  • 2 1/2 yards of 44"- to -54"-wide cotton flannel fabric you like. Esther's Fabrics in Winslow (www.esthersfabrics.com), Joann Fabrics in Silverdale (www.joann.com), and other fabric stores carry cotton flannel. Expect to spend from $7 to about $20 per yard of cotton flannel fabric.
  • Wash and dry your fabric in the washer and dryer before class.

Details:

  • This class is for youth ages 10-16.
  • Registration closes on Wednesday, August 3 at 9:00 am.

Instructor: Fran Fuller learned to sew from her mother when she was 6 or 7 and made clothing and other projects for herself and for friends through high school and college. Now she sews bags, apparel, and other projects at home and at BARN. She is the coordinator of the BARN sewing program.
