Make you own ‘jammies and robe and embellish with flare. In this 4 session class, you will learn sewing basics by making ‘jammie bottoms. Then on to a choice of a top, a robe or both!  Discover fun ways to embellish your robe.  

You will learn to read patterns as well as sewing techniques.  July 9,10,11 are instruction days. On Friday, July 12th there will be a guided open studio from 10 - 1 for students to complete their projects.  

There is a materials fee of $10 for pattern and studio supplies that is included in the price of class.

Age Level: Youth Class, Ages 12-17.

  • BARN reserves the right to cancel this class in the case of low enrollment and will notify families of this decision one week prior to the start of the class.  A full refund will be given.
  • What to bring: A complete list of fabric and materials will be sent to each student. 

Instructor Bio: 
Naomi Spinak is a fiber artist from near Seattle, Washington.  Her work includes comprehensive textile arts from costume design for theatre to avid knitting. Recent projects include entirely upcycled costume design for Peter and the Starcatcher, a lifesize sea turtle puppet for the Texas State Aquarium and microfossil stuffed animal patterns, in addition to modern quilting and costume design in the Seattle area, San Diego, New York, and Philadelphia.  Current science-related artwork has traveled as far as England and Scotland. She has won awards for her costuming in San Diego and her repurposed fashion in the Bainbridge Island Trashion Fashion Show. She also continues to chair the Bainbridge Island Trashion Show.  Naomi holds an MFA in Costume Design and a BA in Art History and Costume Design.
