Instructor

Vee Hua (they/them) is a writer, filmmaker, and organizer with semi-nomadic tendencies. Much of their work unifies their metaphysical interests with their belief that art can positively transform the self and society. They are editor-in-chief of the interdisciplinary arts magazine, REDEFINE. They served as executive director of Northwest Film Forum, where they received a Mayor's Film Award and played a key role in making the interdisciplinary community hub more welcoming for diverse audiences. Their feature film, Reckless Spirits is a metaphysical, multilingual, POC best friend comedy that is slated for production in late 2025. Vee is passionate about cultural space, the environment, and finding ways to covertly and overtly disrupt oppressive structures. They have a master's degree in Tribal Resource and Environmental Stewardship under the Native American Studies department at the University of Minnesota. They are also in post-production on a documentary called Hunt's Trading Post, a Navajo-run third space in a Mormon Utah town.
