About

Learn how to code a robot called "the Finch" to complete an obstacle course. Then things get even more interesting!

You'll combine art and technology to make obstacles and booby traps to make the ultimate obstacle course, creating traps out of common materials like cardboard, paint, and paper. You'll bring them to life through coding, motors, sensors, and a variety of electronic components. Spike traps? Trash compactor? Your imagination is the limit!

Combining the HummingbirdBit robotics kits with the Finch robots, you'll explore the different components, how to use them, and code them using a block-coding app called Birdblox. Then you’ll learn different cardboard building techniques and mechanisms that you can use for your creations.
