About

Day One: We'll start with a quick overview of how the looms were prepared so you'll understand the mechanics of the loom and some basic vocabulary. Then, after an introduction to weaving on a floor loom, we'll have the rest of the day to dive deeply into different colors, patterns, and techniques.

Day Two: More weaving! The instructor will be available to help on a one-on-one basis and you'll have time to explore different weaving patterns and do a color study. The goal is that you end the day feeling confident weaving at least three different patterns.

The instructor will share some examples of weaving patterns and projects that you could make with your handwoven pieces.

You also will learn how to take your pieces off the loom and wet finish them.

Day Three: After sewing machine orientation, you will be approved to use the Fiber Arts Studio sewing machines in the future. We also will have a tutorial on the rivet press in the studio for those hoping to install rivet or grommets on their bags.

Then, we’ll make our zip pouches! Depending on how much fabric you have woven, you may be able to make more than one pouch or wristlet.

Day Four: We will finish working on making our zip pouches and wristlets.
