Local artist Diane Crago will cover the basics of both oil and acrylic painting, including color mixing and composition, and a historical overview of painting styles found in Western Art. She will introduce the tools and materials which will be used for a variety of applications, including glazing, impasto, all prima, and trompe l'oeil techniques. 

Total beginners are welcome as well as those already working in this media. Students are encouraged to email Diane at dianecrago@gmail.com with any questions about workshop content.

Details:

Age Level: Youth Class, Ages 12-18.

  • To register your youth please put in the NAME field your first name then in parenthesis put the youths first and last name (if different than yours). 
  • Please complete and return this fill-able PDF minor permission form
  • Tuition assistance is available.  Click here to apply.  
  • BARN reserves the right to cancel this class in the case of low enrollment and will notify families of this decision one week prior to the start of the class.  A full refund will be given.

  • A materials fee of $35, included in the class fee, covers two paint brushes, painting knife, several canvases, and the acrylic and oil paints used in class.

Instructor:

Diane Crago received her degree in Fine Art from University of Washington.  She has taught art for 45 years, most recently painting classes for employees at Microsoft on the Redmond campus, and for the Experimental College at U.W.  She has shown her work internationally, and loves teaching small groups while retaining the private class experience.  She specializes in teaching the techniques shown on her website www.dianecrago.com.
