In this two-day class with artist Len Eisenhood each student will complete an original, 6" x 8” Treasure Box with materials provided by the instructor. The interior of the box will contain two sections—one for a student-made, 5" x 5 1/2”,  6-page accordion book and a second, 3” x 5” section which will contain an item or treasure to be selected by the student.

Students are encouraged to bring a small supply of stamps, papers, pens to personalize their boxes. Instructor will provide a minimal supply of same for student use.

Day 1 Saturday (morning)—
  Assemble accordion book:
    -covers (select exterior paper and glue)
    -fold accordion pages and glue to covers
    -press completed book
Write a narrative and/or create visuals of student-selected treasure
Day 1 (afternoon)—
   Develop/ design accordion book content (students provide their own
preferred media for original design)
    Cover and glue outer covers for treasure box and press.


 Day 2 Sunday (morning)—
   Complete box:
     -add spine and join front and back covers with selected book cloth-glue
    -sand and stain 1” bass-wood interior walls

Day 2 Sunday (afternoon)—
    -glue bass-wood walls on to back cover
    -press box to stabilize shape
    -finish accordion book visual and/or written content
    -fix selected treasure into appropriate section.
    -take home completed box

Instructor Bio:
Len Eisenhood is an educator, artist and marbler. He has previously taught paper marbling classes at BARN beginning in 2018. Currently his paintings and marbled art creations can be viewed at Sotheby’s in downtown Winslow, until March 1, 2020. Len’s art work can also be viewed at: leneisenhoodart.com
