About

The clasped weft technique enables weavers to create different shapes in different colors. It can be used on any loom, but you'll be learning through demonstrations and teaching on a rigid heddle loom.

Details

You need to bring two contrasting yarns of the same weight to class. You can use your own loom or or one of BARN's (in which case, you'll need to pre-warp your loom before class).

Prerequisites

Introduction to Rigid Heddle Loom Weaving or equivalent experience, with the ability to setup a rigid heddle loom to weave. If you have questions on the experience needed, contact the weaving coordinator at weaving.coordinator@bainbridgebarn.org.

Class Policies

Ages 14 and up are welcome.

Instructor
Dale Walker

Dale is the needle arts coordinator for the Fiber Arts Studio. She enjoys weaving, knitting, embroidery, sewing, dyeing, and surface design. She took a class in rigid heddle weaving at BARN and loved it. Within three months, she had her own rigid heddle loom and had woven 12 scarves. She loves experimenting with different weaving techniques and then teaching others how to do them.
