About

This is a Welding Open Studio for members and guests to work on personal projects or practice their skills.  Registration is required. (If no one has registered 36 hours before the open studio, it will be cancelled.)

This open studio is for those that have completed an introductory welding or plasma cutting class.

Welding Open Studios have been modified as follows:  Free for members ($20 for non-members), i.e., no materials charge.  The shorts/off-cuts/drop are available at no cost for practice or projects.  Participants can order their own materials from Pacific Welding/Central Welding (~10 days in advance) and have them delivered to BARN on Thursdays with direct payment to Pacific Welding for materials.

A monitor will be available to assist participants with proper use of the equipment and safety.  (The monitor has discretion regarding ill-advised projects.)

Please contact Henry Sharpe at the email below if you have questions.

Details:

  • Registration is required for this open studio.
  • Participant must supply their own materials.  The shorts/off-cuts/drop are available at no cost for practice or projects.
  • BARN will provide Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Students must wear natural fiber clothing, long sleeves and long pants, closed toe shoes (preferably leather or cotton), no stretch fabrics.
