Learn about the most famous wine regions in the country, such as Rioja and Ribera del Duero, and also explore the lesser-known regions. Delve into the history of Spanish wine, the major grape varieties, the geography and climate, and how wine fits into Spain's rich cuisine and culture. Taste eight wines including Spanish reds, whites, Cava, and sherry.

Please consider eating dinner or a snack prior to class.
A $20 materials fee, included in the cost of the class, covers all that's needed for the class.
Registration closes June 26.
Wear closed-toed shoes to class.
Project
Students will learn the history of wine in Spain, the most important wine styles and regions, how Spanish wines are made, the role wine plays in Spanish culture, and how to best appreciate wine while visiting Spain.

Christopher Gronbeck
Christopher is founder and former owner of The Barrel Thief Wine & Whiskey Bar in Seattle. He has a long history as an educator in the science and environment fields, and has taught wine and spirits and cocktails classes for more than 15 years. He serves as a judge at numerous wine and spirits competitions. Christopher loves everything about BARN and is active in the Kitchen Arts Studio as well as in Woodworking and Print & Book Arts.
