About

Explore the centuries-old craft that has been used to decorate everything from bread boards to paddles and furniture. Chip carving dates back to the time of the Vikings and has been featured in the folk arts of many countries. This style of woodcarving uses small, repetitive cuts to create geometric or other designs on the surface of wood.

In this class, you'll learn about the specialty knives used in chip carving, how to use them safely, and how to keep the blades sharp. You'll go home with your own chip carving knife and some extra basswood so you can make additional projects on your own.
