The Youth Jewelry Project Class is designed to help students (aged 12-17) build their confidence and tool proficiency while working on a project provided by the instructor or a project of their choice.
The instructor project option will incorporate a variety of tools and materials to help students hone their skills, promote creative thinking and problem solving. While the choice option would allow students an opportunity to work on their own project under the guidance and knowledge of the instructor. Materials provided for use during class: A variety of copper sheet, brass sheet, copper wire, brass wire, findings, solder, flux, liver of sulfur.
Materials available for purchase: A variety of sterling silver; sheet metal, bezel, wire and findings. Please bring check or cash to purchase.

- There is a materials fee of $20 included in the price of class.

Students need to have a studio skills card. They can be obtained by attending one or more of the Youth Maker Monday Skills Class, Introduction to Jewelry Skills class, Introduction to the Jewelers Torch Class or by doing a skills assessment to establish a students skill level. - When you register your youth, please enter their name in the Youth's Name field and enter the parent/guardian email address for "registrants email". All reminders and important information will go to the email address you register with.

Instructor Bio:
Sarah Jones is a BARN founding member, jewelry studio programming and steering committee member. She is a local Bainbridge Island artist, and teacher with experience in fine metal arts, jewelry, ceramics, sculpture, stained glass, and photography.
Because Sarah is a visual and tactile learner herself, her classes typically involve a lot of hands-on learning time. In addition, Sarah’s classes are accompanied by printed information and resources for her students to refer back to when practicing their new skills.
Sarah’s art has been displayed in the Seattle Metals Guild exhibitions and Bainbridge Arts & Craft exhibitions.
