Pay tribute to your favorite artists by letting them inspire your own, original composition.

About this Class

Reflecting upon the works of your favorite artists can result in new, fresh ideas. By studying artists along with art genres and movements, you can explore your own artistic style. Create an original composition inspired by an artist of your choice.

BONUS–you will explore the language of the artist’s critique - giving and receiving feedback as a group.

Details

  • For students ages 14-18.
  • Registration closes Jan. 25.
  • When you register your youth, enter their name in the Youth's Name field and enter the parent/guardian email address for "registrants email." All reminders and important information will go to this email.
  • Complete and return this minor permission form.

Project

You will create an original creation inspired by the artist of your choice. 

Materials

A $30 materials fee is included in the cost of the class. 

Bring whatever sketchbook or drawings you have been working on and whatever drawing tools you prefer.

Class Policies

  • We are grateful to the City of Bainbridge Island for a cultural funding grant that enables us to reduce the costs of Maker Monday classes for families.

Instructor

Lauren Campbell has established herself as a prolific artist in the Pacific Northwest. Lauren has been featured locally at the Poulsbo Arts Festival and The Bar at Cafe Hitchcock. Shortly after completing her printmaking studies at the University of Washington, Lauren became involved with BARN, where she has taught at the Teen Night program.
