About

Do you like owls? Do you like Halloween masks? Let’s use basic sewing skills to make an owl mask from felt. You can wear this mask on Halloween this year, or you can create other masks for Halloween using the skills you’ll build making this mask.

Once we’ve made the mask, let’s sew a cute owl pillow for your room or for a gift. We’ll provide some basic pieces and some embellishments that you can mix and match to make an owl that appeals to you. And, you’ll build skills to make other kinds of pillows in the future.

Instructor:

Dawna Ellis began sewing about 54 years ago as a young Girl Scout. Further nurturing of those skills led her to a path in the creative arts as a costume designer and fabricator in the theatrical industry for 30 years. That experience and exposure to working with textiles in often unconventional ways solidified a love of textiles and the endless possibilities that can become of them. Dawna continues to explore techniques to develop and hone her skills, is an avid quilter, and lives in Poulsbo with her husband and two dogs.
