About

Explore recipe literacy through the versatility of soup making and delicious bakes! From a chunky chili with spicy and zesty flavors to a tomato soup with grilled cheese and a chicken noodle soup with focaccia – the possibilities are endless!

In this month’s series, learn:

  • Recipe Literacy: How to read, scale, and personalize recipes.
  • Culinary Confidence: Experience a commercial kitchen and gain confidence from sharing tasks to finally demonstrating a soup and bread recipe.
  • Soup Skills: Leave with a repertoire of skills, including knife techniques, sautéing, puréeing, and building a broth from scratch.
  • Baking Skills: Elevate a meal with quick breads like cornbread, scones, or focaccia, turning a soup into a family meal.

On the Menu:

  • Week 1: Chili and Cornbread.
  • Week 2: Roasted Tomato Soup and Grilled Cheese.
  • Week 3: Chicken Noodle Soup with Mini Sourdough Rosemary Focaccia.
