About

Create something useful, like a gate latch, while learning the art of blacksmithing. It's a great way to get started in the craft.

You’ll learn how to move hot steel between a hammer and anvil, punch holes in metal without a drill press, and rivet multiple parts into the functional latch. Students who have completed this class have left with a sense of pride, having made something they take home and put to good use.

You'll begin with an introduction to the blacksmith’s workshop, including safety and the proper handling of materials. Learn and build good habits around safe practice at the forge working hot steel with hammer and tongs.
