About

Do all of your characters sound the same? Does all of your dialogue sound like exposition? Do you dread when a character needs to speak?  You’re not alone. In this class, we’ll break down what makes dialogue sing and what makes it fall flat.

Seasoned as well as new writers can learn how to make characters sound authentic and natural. Whether you write prose, plays, or screenplays, you'll learn to find their voices.

Make dialogue move your piece forward and help develop your characters and their relationships without them sounding flat. You’ll learn about subtext and how it strengthens dialogue and how to make dialogue tags less clunky.

If you have a character or scene that needs a dialogue overhaul or just want to have some fun and improve dialogue in general, come ready to do free-writes, improv-style activities, and let’s get your characters talking.

Bring a scene or character that needs dialogue help or any questions you have about writing dialogue.
