About

Sniffles never looked so good!

In this beginner-friendly BARN class, you'll design and mosaic a tissue box cover over two sessions, covering all four sides and a portion of the top with colorful glass in a design that's uniquely yours. You'll learn how to plan a design across multiple surfaces, cut and shape glass, and grout your finished piece for a smooth, durable result. You'll use nippers, adhesive, and grout while exploring color, texture, and pattern on a functional, gift-worthy scale. All materials and tools are provided, just bring your creativity and a few ideas for colors you love.

This is a great class for beginners! If you’ve taken a mosaic class before, you’ll likely feel more at ease with the tools and design process, but no experience is necessary to enjoy and succeed in this project.

Materials

A materials fee of $17, included in the price of the class, covers everything you need.

Class Policies

  • Ages 14 and up are welcome.
  • Wear closed-toe shoes and long pants in the studio at all times.
Instructor
Barbara Henderson

Barbara is a mosaicist with a passion for helping others express themselves through the art of mosaics. She discovered art a little later in life than lots of other people, having been distracted by corporate life, ladder climbing, and the nonsense idea that she wasn’t creative. Now her favorite thing is to watch a student realize their unique ability to produce something personal and meaningful, and to develop their own artistic vision. Her favorite saying is that “perfection can be purchased at the Dollar Store. Art and beauty are found in the unique and flawed.” She serves on a variety of boards and committees and lives in Gig Harbor with her husband and far too many dogs and chickens.
