Intermediate Lampworking: Big Hole Beads
Make bigger holed beads for bigger bling.
Details
- You’ll use 1/8” and 1/4” mandrels to make your beads. We’ll discuss and demonstrate making beads on even larger mandrels, too.
- If you’d like to add a metal core to your beads to protect your stringing materials or for additional design possibilities, pair this class with Big Hole Bead Beadlining.
- This class is helpful preparation if you’re taking the Twisted Cane and Portal Beads with Heather Trimlett class during Handwork 2027.
Prerequisite
- An introductory course like Beadmaking Experience or Introduction to Torchwork: Beads, and additional practice forming simple round and disk shaped beads are ideal preparation for this class.
Materials
- A $43 materials cost covers everything you need for this class.
- You’re welcome to bring your own soft glass.
Class Policies
- Ages 14 and up are welcome.
- Wear long-sleeve shirts and long pants of natural fibers. Wear closed-toe shoes, preferably leather or cotton. Stretch fabrics are prohibited.
