About

PMC is a clay like material made up of fine metal particles, an organic binder and water.  Working with PMC is similar to playing with PlayDoh as it can be rolled, shaped, textured, molded, and carved to your imagination's delight. Pieces are fired in a kiln which burns off the binder and melts the particles together into a solid metal finished work of art.

On day one, students will learn the basics of playing with PMC and create a variety of pieces with a beautiful Gold/Bronze clay . . . a very versatile and affordable form of metal clay. Participants will also learn and practice the basics of preparing their pieces for a successful firing.  After firing overnight, the second class will focus on polishing and finishing techniques. This class will give students the confidence to work with more expensive alloys and explore the almost infinite creative options available through this medium. Come play with clay and revisit a childhood pleasure!
