About
Learn the art of monotype screen printing — an ancient method of transferring pigment to a surface — as experienced printmaker Dana Harris Seeger guides you through every step of the process.
Monotype is a “one-of-a-kind” print, so each time an image is created using either the screen ink or water-based media, the image will change. All aspects of screen printing will be covered including what materials to use for the process, how to set up the screen for printing, what types of inks can be used, and how to heat set for washing the fabric.
You'll get a taste of the history of screen printing, learn what types of imagery you can expect from different methods, and learn how to use the screen for a range of results. You'll see demonstrations on proper setup, creating images, and printing. You will create your image and print your design and we'll wrap up with show-and-tell.
