About

Use a forge to heat pieces of steel red-hot and hammer them into the shape and edge of a knife. Repeat, again and again. Temper and quench. Then grind a final edge. You have a handmade utility (not kitchen) knife to fit with a handle.

• Learn the basic principles of metallurgy, metal forming, and heat treatment
  
• Learn to draw steel through traditional methods

• Participants must wear long-sleeve shirts and pants in natural fiber and closed-toe shoes of either leather or cotton. Athletic or synthetic shoes and stretch fabrics are prohibited.
• Alchemy Industrial Arts will provide Personal Protection Equipment (PPE)
  
• Ages 14+ and all experience levels welcome.
  
• Class is limited to four students to provide good mentoring.
