Get checked out on the woodworking shop's major power tools not covered in the Tools 1 safety checkout class. Completing this class will qualify you to use the following tools during open studio time or in classes that have this as a prerequisite:

• Router and router table
• Mortising machine
  
• Edge sander
• Laguna wide-belt sander
• Cantak planer

You will get more out of this class if you first view videos that cover these tools. See them by clicking on the link-enabled tool names above. (Hint: You can go back to these at any time to review safety protocols. Find them on the BARN website, BainbridgeBARN.org, by clicking under the "Studio" menu on the woodshop page.)

Please dress in the same way you will be expected to do when you use the shop for open studio time. That means:

• Wear close-toe shoes.
• Bring and wear safety glasses.
• Wear hearing protectors when warranted; bring your own or use BARN's.
• Avoid loose-fitting clothing; roll up sleeves. Tie back long hair.
