Get checked out on the Woodworking Studio’s major power tools not covered in the Tools 1 safety class. This Tools 2 safety class may be taken without first having taken the Tools 1 safety class. Provided you have also attended our free Orientation to the Woodshop class, completing Woodshop Tool Safety 2 will qualify you to use the following tools during Open Studio time or in classes that have this as a prerequisite:

• Router and router table
• Oscillating Sander
• Disc Sande
• Edge sander
• Laguna wide-belt sander
• Band saws 
• Scroll saw

Instructor: Dave Roe - Dave was originally trained as a shop teacher with a focus on wood and metal working, he worked as a carpenter during the summers and sometimes during the school year in high school, college and graduate school.  His woodworking specializations are furniture design and construction, marquetry, inset work, and faceplate turning, with a special emphasis on the design and construction of fixtures and jigs for short run furniture production.
