Get checked out on the Woodworking Studio’s major power tools not covered in the Tools 1 safety class. This Tools 2 safety class may be taken without first having taken the Tools 1 safety class. Provided you have also attended our free Orientation to the Woodshop class, completing Woodshop Tool Safety 2 will qualify you to use the following tools during Open Studio time or in classes that have this as a prerequisite:

• Router and router table
• Oscillating sander
• Disc sander
• Edge sander
• Band saws 
• Scroll saw

Details:

• BARN will be practicing safety measures for the health and well-being of all participants, in accordance with state and CDC guidelines. Students and instructors will be required to wear masks, wash or sanitize hands frequently, maintain a distance of six feet between individuals, and stay home if they are sick.  More details can be found here.
• In addition to the mask requirement, you must wear closed-toe shoes, tie back long hair, and avoid loose-fitting clothing and jewelry.
• You will get more out of this class if you first view videos that cover these tools. (Hint: You can go back to these at any time to review safety protocols. Find them on the BARN website, BainbridgeBARN.org, by clicking under the "Studio" menu on the woodshop page.)
• In gratitude to our members for their continued support during the closures, BARN is offering all classes for free to BARN members through December 2020.  Members are still responsible for paying materials and mailing fees, where applicable. If a class is full, please add your name to the wait list in case a space opens up or we are able to offer another class. Check our calendar frequently as more classes are being added each week!
